Tao Drawings

Molly is deeply inspired by Taoist Philosophy. Through the development of her Ocean and River patterns, she explores the concept of duality taught by the principle of Yin and Yang. For Molly, these patterns are explorations into the opposing and balancing energies of the spiritual realm.

River Drawings

While observing the movement of a river, Molly noticed a pattern and developed a simple ruleset to reconstruct what she saw. Molly cuts a strip of paper into a curved line and traces it repeatedly in opposing directions so that the overlap creates a dynamic composition. She then fills in the space between the lines with a chosen pigment.
